The Investigation of Old City's Oblique Streets and Advices on Its Development Programming

From the questionnaire study of the inhabitants in Xisibei and Shichahai regions and the investigation of Xidi old dwelling house and Tunxi old street in south Anhui province,the suggestions and advices are as follow: 1. Not only concern the development rules of society and city,but also from the point of view of dwelling environment,the re-development of old city area is necessary. 2. The citizens living in old city area hold a positive attitude towards the re-development of condemned housing,and most of them agree with the idea that the city's modernization and the protection of ancient capital style can be combined properly. 3. It is doable to use the modern science and technology in the renovation of the old city's oblique streets,in order to enhance the life quality of the citizens. 4. While the rehabilitation of the old city is performed,it is necessary to keep the new buildings' appearance,overall arrangement and the surroundings to be in harmony with the ancient capital style. 5. Advices on dividing the old city's oblique streets into three classes: totally protected area,inhabitation area and the area for touring and business. 6. The suggestions on holistic protection of nature water area centered Shichahai region. 7. Bringing forward the idea and methods of establishing the “citizen school”,in concern the condition of the citizen's literacy.
