Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of tuberculosis control project supported by world bank loan in Handan city.Methods We collected and analyzed the quarterly reports and related information from 1993 to 2000.Results In the past 8 years,12396 pulmonary tuberculosis patients were diagnosed among 20132 suspected cases,the treatment coverage rate of new smear positive cases was 100%,the completiom rate of regular treatment was 97.2%,the negative conversion rates of tubercle bacillus on sputum smear was 95.7% at the end of 2 months of treatment,the cure rate was 98.2%.Conclusion If correct technical strategy is implemented,the result of tuberculosis control is satisfactory.
