Study on Urban Competitive Capacities of Hunan Province

Competition between cities results from the market economy and raising city competitive capacity has been emphased by all kinds of cities. This paper, using 34 indicators covering economic, infrastructural, science and technology, cultural, openness and environment competitiveness, firstly evalues 13 real central cities in Hunan Province. It then analyses competitive capacities of all cities and classifies them into 4 types. Finally, several proposals in raising urban competitive capacities in Hunan Province have been put forward in the end.
