Analysis of the Gardening Features of Junpu of Song Dynasty

Junpu,prefectural garden,has appeared very often in annals of local histories,scenic spots and poetries of notables.Such prolific amount and detailed record has gradually aroused the academic circle's attention.With its detailed literature record and rare historical pictures,the junpu of Song Dynasty,as an example of urban landscape construction and a phased case of public park development,has empirical values in understanding gardens,especially gardens of government offices in Song Dynasty.With the combination of pictures and texts preserved comparatively completely in the Southern Song Dynasty's annals of Jiangnan history and related account in Yu Di Ji Sheng and other related literature about junpu,this article analyses junpu's location and function relationship with city and location of government office,and concludes junpu's definition,park function and scenic spot construction feature.
