Abstract

Objective:To discuss the CT appearance and the value of preoperative staging of rectal carcinoma. Methods:CT images were reviewed in 33 cases of rectal carcinoma confirmed by biopsy, surgery and pathology, analyze CT appearance and preoperative staging,we also compared the preoperative CT diagnosis with clinic pathologic diagnosis. Results:CT appearances of rectal carcinoma conclude thick rectal wall, rectal cavity stenosis, soft tissue tumour, around tissue invasion, lymph noae enlargenment and metastasis. The whole identical rate between the preoperative CT diagnosis and clinic pathologic diagnosis was 92%.Conclusion:CT appearances of rectal carcinoma has its character, the preoperative CT examination is useful in the diagnosis and staging of rectal carcinoma, and in determining its clinic treatment project.
