Abstract

Objective To evaluate the preoperative CT scan of rectal carcinoma.Methods Fifty two cases with rectal carcinoma were proved by pathology and examined with CT. All of the CT features were observed and compared with pathology.Results The demonstrated rectal carcinoma was 52 cases in middle late period. Staging of tumors were accurate in 43 cases (82.6%). Conclusion CT is not valuable for rectal carcinoma in early period. But it has important value for rectal carcinoma in middle late period and helpful in selecting of the appropriate patients for surgery or other treatment methods.
