Abstract

Objective To study the relationship of the protein expression of Skp2,PTEN and p27 with carcinogenesis and development of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC).Methods The expression of Skp2,PTEN and p27 protein were examined using immunochistochemical SABC staining method in 65 cases of LSCC.Results The positive expression rates of Skp2,PTEN and p27 protein in LSCC were 60.0%,49.2% and 41.5% respectively.Skp2 overexpression was positively associated with TNM stage(P0.05) and lymph node metastasis(P0.05).The positive expression rate of PTEN was lower in LSCC of poor differentiation(P0.05),in cases with cervical lymph node metastasis(P0.05)and in stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ diseases(P0.05).p27 positive expression rate was markedly decreased in the group with cervical lymph node metastasis(P0.05).Conclusion Combined detection of the expression of Skp2,PTEN and p27 may be useful in evaluating the biological behavior of LSCC comprehensively.
