Abstract
Benzyl acetate was synthesized with acetic acid and benzyl alcohol as raw materials and a new so lid niobic acid as esterification catalyst. The results showed that the yield reached 67.2% when the mole ratio of acetic acid and benzyl alcohol was 4, reaction time was 270 min in the presence of proper amount of catalyst and cyclohexane. The catalyst could be separated easily and reused for times.
