Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relationship between expression of p53mRNA and bcl 2,bax protein, and their clinicopathologic features. Methods:Expression of bcl 2,bax protein and p53mRNA in 52 cases of surgically resected primary lung cancer were investigated respectively by immunohistochemical and RT PCR techniques. Results:The positive expression of bcl 2,bax protein was observed in 52(42.3 % vs 59.61 %) cases. The bcl 2 expression rate was much higher in those with poor differentiation and in stage Ⅲ than those with well differentiation and stage Ⅰ ( P 0.01).Conclusion:Overexpression of bcl 2 protein is predominantly observed in lung cancer at late stage;p53mRNA and bax protein play a key role in early stage. They modulate and co operate the balance status of death and survival signals in cells.
