Abstract
A novel hybrid excitation brushless motor combining permanent magnet with field windings is proposed, which can weaken or strengthen the magnet flux control by adjusting the field winding current. After presenting the configuration and relevant theory of the hybrid excitation motor, its static state characteristics including flux linkage, back EFM,and inductance are analyzed and simulated to verify the theory. The experimental motor confirmed the feasibility of the novel motor.
