Abstract

Objective To observe the expression of CD44V6 and nm23 H1 in lung carcinomas and their association with lung carcinomas metastasis. Methods Paraffin embedded tissues from 85 cases with primary lung carcinomas were investigated for expression of CD44V6 and nm23 H1 by immunohistochemistry(S-P method). Results The expression of CD44V6 protein was positively correlated with clinical staging?pathological differentiation and lymph node metastasis. The expression of nm23 H1 protein was inversely correlated with clinical staging?pathological differentiation and lymph node metastasis but the expression of CD44V6 and nm23 H1 were not correlated with sex?age? tumor size and pathological type. There was an inverse correlation between the expression of CD44V6 and nm23 H1.Conclusion CD44V6 and nm23 H1 probably play an important regulating role in the meastasis of lung neoplasm and they may be used as an index to forecast potential of the tumor metastasis and prognosis.
