Abstract
Objective To investigate primary treatment measures and vitreoretinal surgery timing of perforating injury of the eyeball. Methods Medical records of 56 cases(59 eyes)of ocular perforating injury were retrospectively analyzed.The anterior wounds were sutured and giant orbital forgein body was removed primarily. Then lensectomy and vitrectomy was operated at a selected time. Results Follow-up was from 3 to 24 months.Retina in position in 49 eyes (83.05%),retinal detachment was in 7 eyes (11.86%),atrophy of eyeball was 3 eyes (5.09%).Final corrected vision was better than 0.3 in 23 eyes(38.98%),≥0.02 in 46 eyes(77.97%),no light perception(NLP) in 3 eyes (5.09%).Conclusion Correted primary treatment and proper vitreoretinal surgery of perforating injury of eyeball is very important for the recovery of vision.
