Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between atypical squamous cell of undetermined significance(ASCUS) and the cervical lesion.Methods 185 cases of 2720 patients were diagnosed as ASCUS with liquid based cytology,which were further biopsy under the colposcope.Results 118 cases of patients with ASCUS were determined as inflammation(63.78%),63 cases as CIN(34.05%),and 4 cases as cervical invasive cancer(2.16%).Conclusion ASCUS may be the first indication of CIN and cervical invasive cancer.Biopsy under colpscope should be applied on ASCUS.
