Abstract
Quality-oriented emphasizes students' cultivation of ideology quality and cultural spirits. The similar ideology between Chinese and Western Quality-oriented is the All-human education in nineteenth century, which takes of human as its nature and exploit of human sense, emotion, creation and spiritual potential as its purpose. What we can learn from western practice are: educational ideology encouraging personality development, open system, flexible evaluation system and some teaching methods such as Question mode, Reflection mode and Inquiry mode etc. The myth we should avoid are: conflict between quality-oriented and examination education; western education, especially American emphasizes quality.
