Influence of the different components in Niuhuang Jiedu Tablets on solubility of arsenic in realgar

Purpose To study the effects of the different components in Niuhuang Jiedu Tablets on solubility of arsenic in realgar.Methods The samples tested were divided into 9 groups by using realgar and the 7 different components in Niuhuang Jiedu Tablets.According to the original formula of Niuhuang Jiedu Tablets they were pretreated with simulated gastric juice respectively,and then concentrations of soluble arsenic were determined by UV spectrophotometry.Results Contents of soluable arsenic in simulated gastric juice—pretreated realgar with components in Niuhuang Jiedu Tablets or the compomd formula were decreased in different degree than those in simulated gastric juice—pretreated realgar.Rhubarb+ realgar group and glycyrrhiza + realgar group were decreased significantly and the content of soluble arsenic is 84.9% and 81.1%,lower than that in realgar.However,borneol+realgar group had no significant influence.Conclusion Rhubarb and glycyrrhiza probably has inhibitory effect on solubility of arsenic in realgar.The paper can provide reference for the further study on the main material of the effects on solubility of arsenic in realgar.
