Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the expressions of protease-activated receptor-2(PAR-2) and matrix metallo proteinases-2(MMP-2) in normal cervix, carcinoma in situ of uterine cervix and invasive carcinoma of cervix.METHODS: Immunohistochemistry method was used to examine the expression of PAR-2 and MMP-2 in 70 specimens of cervical squamous cell carcinoma,20 carcinoma in situ of uterine cervix, and 15 normal cervical specimens.RESUTLS: The positive expression rates of PAR-2 and MMP-2 was 45.71% and 71.43% in cervical invasive carcinomain, obviously higher than those in cervical carcinoma in situ and in normal cervical tissues(P0.01).The expression of PAR-2 in positive and negative lymph nodes metastasis of pelvic cavity was 72.41% and 26.83%,The expression of MMP-2 in positive and negative lymph nodes metastasis of pelvic cavity was 93.10% and 56.10%,and there was statistical significance for the two groups(P0.01).CONCLUSION: PAR-2 and MMP-2 are closely associated with the invasion and metastasis of cervical carcinoma.
