Application of risk management in ICU nursing

Objective To study the application effect of risk management in ICU nursing. Methods 150 ICU patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group who were treated from May 2011 to May 2012. Among them, 75 cases werein experimental group, and 75 cases in the control group. Patients in the control group only received routine clinical care and life care, meanwhile risk management was applicated in nursing work in the patients of experimental group on the basis of control group. The difference of these in two groups was analyzed on the nursing job satisfaction as well as the nursing risk events and quality of nursing. Results After the application of risk management, the experimental group patients' satisfaction was significantly increased (P0.05). The experimental group patients nursing risk events decreased obviously than that in control group (P0.05). Conclusion The application of risk management can improve nursing quality and the patients' satisfaction, reduce the amouts of nursing risk events, and reduce the medical risks and accidents effectively.
