Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of Octreotide on intestinal obstruction. Methods One hundred and fifty patients suffering from intestinal obstruction were randomly divided into control group and experimental group. The patients in the control group were treated with routine therapy including gastrointestinal decompression, intravenous replacement of fluid and electrolytes, total parenteral nutrition and antibiotics. The patients in the experimental group received hypodermic injection Octreotide(q8h)plus routine therapy. Results There are very significantly difference between two group. The remission rate of symptoms for Octreotide group were obviously, the average ananual exhaust time was significantly earlier.the average hospitalization time of ocrteotide group were shorter.(P0.01).The clinical cure rate were significantly improved in the experimental group(P0.05).Conclusions 0ctreotide combined with routine treat is an effective method to treat intestinal obstruction.
