Abstract

Based on the introduction to the concept and quantitative calculation method of ecological footprint,the ecological footprints of Yinchuan form 2001 to 2005 were calculated and analyzed.The results showed that the ecological footprint per capita of Yinchuan increased gradually,from 1.650875hm2 in 2001 to 2.271565hm2 in 2005,that meant an unsustainable ecological development in Yinchuan.Measures for sustainable development were proposed and a reference for Yinchuan′s ecosystem sustainable development after analysis of the calculation results was provided.
