Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of fasudil,a Rho-kinase inhibitor,in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. Methods A randomized study was designed to evaluate effect of fasudil on acute cerebral infarction, with routine therapy as placebo-control.Sixty patients were chosen from July 2007 to April 2008 and were divided into 2 groups: fasudil group(30 patients) and control group(30 cases).Excellency, efficacy, improvement of neurological function, and activities of daily living were observed. Results In the fasudil group, excellency, efficacy, improvement of neurological function, and activities of daily living were elevated markedly compared with those in the placebo-control group(P0.05).Conclusion Fasudil can increase the neurological function and activities of daily living in the therapy of acute cerebral infarction.Fasudil is a safe medicine.
