Analysis of outpatient prescriptions in our hospital in 2011

Abstract
Objective To improve the quality of prescriptions and the rationality of drug use. Methods Prescriptions of outpatient pharmacy in our hospital were selected randomly and the rationality and usage of drugs were analyzed.Results Random samples of 12000 prescriptions were obtained from the outpatient pharmacy in our hospital. As a result, 316 irrational prescriptions were found (accounting for 2.63%), including non-standard prescription writing, improper use of antimicrobial drugs, inappropriate dosage, improper use of drugs. Conclusion Although the out-patient prescriptions of our hospital are reasonable on the whole, the quality of the prescription writing should be further improved for rational drug use.
