Build-up and practice of competency-based clinical nursing teaching model

Abstract

Objective To construct competency-based nursing teaching model and evaluate its effects. Methods We compiled the clinical nursing teaching manual,made an objective teaching plan according to each teaching stage in practice,and established the evaluation system for nursing competencies. Competency-based nursing teaching model was used among 274 nursing students in practice. Results The students enhanced their nursing competencies. Both the students and teachers were satisfied with this teaching model. Conclusion Competency-based nursing teaching model is an effective solution to enhancing students' nursing competencies and improves the teaching quality.
