Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between the percentage of midgastric transverse band(MTB) area and the time of gastric emptying in patients with functional dyspepsia (FD).Methods 48 subjects were divided into healthy subjects,FD and big dosage groups, and underwent gastric emptying imaging with single photon emission computed tomograph. The time of the whole and different gastric areas was obtained by region of interest technique and the activity curve was drawn automatically or artificially, the half gastric emptying time(GET1/2) of the whole stomach and the areas of the whole and subregion stomach were obtained from the curve, and the percentage of the whole and different gastric areas was calculated. Results GET1/2 in FD group and big dosage group increased obviously and there was a significant difference when compared with healthy subjects(P0.05 or P0.01),but there was no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).The percentage of MTB area in FD group increased obviously and there was a significant difference when compared with healthy subjects(P0.05), but there was no significant difference between big dosage group and healthy subjects(P0.05). The percentage of MTB area was correlated with GET1/2 at different time(P0.05).Conclusion Both the percentage of MTB area and GET1/2 are increased in patients with FD.MTB plays a role as sluice gate in regulating food distribution and empting of the stomach.
