Abstract

This paper studies and analyzes the aesthetic significance in Dong Qichang's theory of Chinese landscape painting from four different perspectives.Firstly,the paper summarizes the fundamental aesthetic inclinations in Dong's Chinese landscape painting.Secondly,Dong Qichang's rich and creative artistic practices in landscape painting are discussed in the paper.Thirdly,the aesthetic aspects of Chinese landscape painting are expounded.Lastly,the paper provides a description of the unique artistic style and features and aesthetic pursuits of Chinese South School of Painting.
