Abstract

In pH=10.0 NH3-NH4Cl buffer solution,the reaction of Fe(Ⅱ) with 4-(2-Thiazolylazo)resorcinol was studied.The results show that Fe(Ⅱ) reacts with 4-(2-Thiazolylazo)resorcinol to form a red chelate.The apparent molar absorptivity of this chelate is 6.98×104L· mol -1·cm -1 at 733nm.Beer's law is obeyed in range of 0—25μg/25mL for Fe(Ⅱ).The method was applied to the determination of Fe(Ⅱ) in food with satisfactory results.
