Abstract
Among rice varieties bred in the recent years and taken part in provincial regional experiment, the early varieties had the best quality, but the medium and medium-late varieties had the poorer quality.More than 90 percent of rice varieties reached the class one national quality standard in the major quality traits, such as brown rice rate and amylose content. However, high chalky grain rate and chalkiness degree and low head rice rate were the main reasons for Liaoning rice quality hard to reach class one national standard. The quality of rice varieties bred in the recent two years in Liaoning decreased in total trend.
