Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and drug related toxicities of Niaoduqing combined with reduced glutathione in the treatment of chronic renal insufficiency. Methods Seventy-three cases with chronic renal insufficiency were recruited in our study. The recruited73 cases were randomly divided into experiment group( n = 38) and control group( n = 35). All the patients were treated with basic treatment such anti infection, forbidden use of renal toxicity drugs and improve the electrolyte disorder. And patients in the control group were administered reduced glutathione 1. 8 g + 0. 9% Na Cl 100 m L twice per day for 4weeks in the control group. Patients in the treatment group administered the same schedule reduced glutathione as well as niaoduqing 5 g orally 4times per day for 4 weeks. After treatment the clinical efficacy, renal function and drug related toxicity were evaluated between the two groups. Results The total efficacy were 76. 32% and 51. 43% in the control and experiment group respectively with experiment group much higher than the control group( P 0. 05). The renal function were all improved in both the experiment and control group( P 0. 05). And the serumcreatinine, blood urea nitrogen, uric acid were significant lower, the creatinine clearance rate was significant higher in the experiment group compared to control group after treatment( P 0. 05). The drug related adverse event rate were5. 26% and 5. 71% in the experiment and control group respectively with no statistical difference( P 0. 05). Conclusion Niaoduqing combined with reduced glutathione is effective and safety in the treatment of chronic renal failure which could significant improve the renal function.
