Abstract
Objective To investigate the curative effect and safety of greenlight photoselective vaporization for patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods Eighty-two cases of BPH with the indications for surgery were randomly divided into two groups:41 cases of BPH were treated by PVP,and the remaining 41 cases by TURP.Therapeutic effects were observed.Results In blood loss,operating time,bladder washout time after operation,duration of catheter placement,surgical complications and hospital stay,there was significant difference between PVP group and TURP group(P0.05).After treatment there was significant difference in IPSS,QOL,Qmax and RU between two groups(P0.05).Conclusion PVP treatment for BPH is simple,safe and effective with shorter time and less blood loss.
