Comparison of Aripiprazole and Risperidone in the Treatment of Female Schizophrenia

Abstract

Objective To compare the clinical and safety between aripiprazole and risperidone in the treatment of female patients with schizophrenia.Methods 80 female patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into aripiprazole group and risperidone group for 8 weeks.PANSS and TESS were used to evaluate the efficacy and adverse.Results There was a similar efficacy between the two groups,group of aripiprazole had fewer or slighter side effects.Conclusion The effects of aripiprazole to endocrine and weight were smaller than those of risperidone.Aripiprazole is a safe and effective antipsychotics with good compliance.
