Abstract
Objective To explore a better therapeutic method for slow transit constipation. Methods Forty- two cases of slow transit constipation were randomly divided into an observation group( 22cases) and a control group( 20cases). In the control group, routine treatment of western medicine included high- fiber diet, prokinetic agents, while acupoint application was added in the observation group. Shenque,Tianshu,Qihai,Guanyuan were selected as the main acupoints. The magnetic plaster was applied to the acupoints mentioned and changed once per day. Seven days made one session. Results The the effective rate of observation group was90. 9%; the effective rate of control group was 80%,there were significant difference between two groups( P 0. 05). The first time of defecation, cure group is 15. 1 ± 2. 8( h),control group is 20. 1 ± 7. 3( h),all P 0. 05. The hospital stays and expenses in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group( 8. 9 ± 0. 5) days vs( 11. 8 ± 1. 7) days,( 4. 4 ±0. 55) thousand RMB vs( 6. 9 ± 0. 73) thousand RMB,both P 0. 05. Conclusion Acupoint application combined with routine treatment of western medicine is effective and can be considered as a better therapy for Slow transit constipation.
