Clinical observation of combined acupoint application and injection in treating chronic bronchitis

Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of chronic bronchitis treated by combined acupoint application and injection.Methods Sixty patients with chronic bronchitis were randomly divided into control group and observation group,30 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with acupoint application in dog days,and those in the observation group received acupoint application in dog days and point injection for four weeks.Scores of TCM syndrome were counted before and six months after the treatment,and clinical efficacy was evaluated.Frequency of cold contraction within 1 year was counted also.Results The syndrome score in the observation group after treatment was lower compared with that in the control group (P0.05).The total effective rate of the clinical efficacy in the observation group was 90.0%,higher than 80.0% in the control group (P0.05).The frequency of cold in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P0.01).Conclusion Acupoint application in dog days plus point injection therapy has good short-term effects on chronic bronchitis,and can prevent patients with chronic bronchitis from cold.
