Clinical observation of acupoint catgut-embedding therapy in treating 30 cases with slow transit constipation

Objective To observe the effect of acupoint catgut-embedding therapy in treating colonic slow transit constipation( STC).Methods 61 patients suffered from STC were randomly divided into treatment group( 30 cases) and control group( 31 cases). In treatment group,the patients were treated with acupoint catgut-embedding therapy. The patients of control group took Marenzipi Pill orally. Results Curative rate of the treatement group( 63.33%) was higher than of the control group( 16.13%),there was a statistical significance( P0.01).The total effective rate of the treatment group( 93. 33%) was also obviously higher than of the control group( 74.20%),there was a significant difference( P0.05). Conclusion The acupoint catgut-embedding therapy is effective,easily operated. It can be popularized and applied.
