Abstract
A PC-based CAX integrated analysis environment is first established using the flexible multi-body dynamics and virtual prototyping technology. Then,a virtual prototyping model is developed for a specific engine crankshaft system. Meanwhile, the simulation and analysis are conducted based on the actual working conditions.Next, the time-domain analysis diagrams are completed regarding relevant system components. As a consequence, the real-time stresses and dangerous positions of critical crankshaft components are obtained.Due that the simulation results are closely coincided with the theoretical analysis, the virtual prototyping technology has proven its feasibility for crankshaft analysis.
