Abstract

Objective To investigate the effective therapy of cervicitis caused by chlamydia trachomatis. Methods A total of 412 patients admitted by our department from Jan 2001 to Dec 2003, aged from 21 to 54 years old, were studied. Leucorrhea from the cervix was collected and examined for CT-DNA by PCR. The experiment group administrated one-gram miramycin every three days and meanwhile applied abomacetin to the cervix for 15 min each time. The control group only took miramycin of 200 mg/d, twice a day for 14 d. The therapeutic effects of two groups were observed. Results The therapeutic effects in the experiment group was better than those of the control group (P0.01). Conclusion Combined medication of miramycin and abomacetin is an effective method in the treatment of cervicitis caused by chlamydia trachomatis.
