Prevalence of Cervical Human Papillomavirus Infection in Women from some Areas in Nanjing

Objective: To investigate the infection status of human papillomavirus(HPV) in women from some areas in Nanjing.Methods: A total of 3382 outpatient women from Nanjing Maternal and Child Health Hospital were checked for 21 HPV DNA types by DNA flow-through hybridization genotyping technique.Results: All of the 21 types HPV were detected.The HPV positive rate was 33.47%(1132/3382),and the multiplex HPV infection was 9.58%.HPV 16 was the most common type,and the other common types,in descending order of frequency,were type 58,52,CP8304,53,18,33,68,31,39,11,6 and 66.There wasn't significant difference in the HPV-positive rates between the age groups(P0.1).Conclusion: Our study shows that the prevalence of HPV infection is 33.47% in women from some areas in Nanjing.The common types of HPV infection are 16,58,52,CP8304,53,18,33,68,31,39,11,6 and 66.The HPV infection peak age is 20 years old and 70 years old.
