Abstract

Objective To discuss the infection status of human papillomavirus(HPV) in female outpatients in Xiamen. Methods A total of 3,155 cervical samples were detected for HPV genotyping using DNA hybridization technique. Results The HPV positive rate was 17.0%,and the overall prevalence of high-risk,low-risk and multiplex HPV infection was 72.2%,15.1% and 12.7%,respectively.HPV-16 was the most common type. The prevalence of HPV infection peaked(29.9%) in the age of 25-34 years old. There was no significant difference in HPV-positive rate among other age group(P0.05).Conclusion Our study shows that the prevalence of HPV infection is 17.0% in outpatient women in Xiamen. The common types of HPV infection are HPV-16,-52,-58,-18,-6,and-68.The HPV infection peak age is during 25-34 years old.
