Abstract

【Objective】To investigate the clinical value of B type natriuretic peptide(BNP) in patients with congestive heart failure(CHF).【Methods】96 patients were admitted to hospital for CHF.BNP levels, left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),left ventricular end diastolic diameters(LVDD) were performed respectively in admission and before discharge.【Results】BNP levels were significantly different in different heart function classes according to NYHA(P0.001).The levels of BNP in patients with heart function class Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳwere(127±15) pg/ml,(352±29) pg/ml,(580±31) pg/ml and(1045±38) pg/ml,respectively.There was a significant negative correlation between BNP levels and LVEF(r=-0.8,P0.05).【Conclusion】BNP is a good marker to left ventricular function.
