Abstract
By using sodium bisulfate as the catalyst, sebacic acid and n butyl alcohol reacted to form dibutyl sebacate. The optimum conditions were as follows:basing on 0.05mol sebacic acid, molar ratio of n butanol to sebacic acid was 3,cyclohexane was 20ml,mass of catalyst was 2.0g,reaction time was 30min.The yield of dibutyl sebacate was up to 95 62%.Experimental results showed that the catalyst had many advantages, such as easy preparation, low cost and high activity. It was also non corrosive and pollution free to the environment.
