Abstract

The government commandecing of farmland at low costs for the purpose of expansion of the city does not bring out cheap products for city dwellers.The fact results from defective system of farmland requisition and compensateion , which contribustes to high transition costs . The root of this problem lies in the present instituteion of the farmland property rights.The key steps to tackle the problem are to develop the farmland property rights and give the farmers the rights to detevmine how to use their land.
