Abstract

Objective:To explore the expression and clinical significance of Bcl-2-associated athanogene-1(BAG-1)in human gliomas. Methods:The protein level of Bag-1in 56cases of different grade glioma tissues and 10cases of normal brain tissues was detected by immumohistochemical staining. Results:The expression of Bag-1was significantly higher in glioma tissues than that of normal brain tissues. The positive expressions rate of Bag-1was 69.64%in human glioma tissues, with 40.91%in low level group(gradeⅠ-Ⅱ)and 88.24%in high level group(gradeⅢ-Ⅳ).The positive expression rate of Bag-1in gliomas of gradesⅠ-Ⅱwas significantly higher than that in gliomas of gradesⅢ-Ⅳ(P0.05).The difference in survival time2years group and less than 2years group was also significant(P0.05).Conclusions:Bag-1may play an important role in the development process of gliomas, and may act as valuable indicator of the malignant degree of glioma and the prognosis in the patients with glioma.
