Abstract
Objective:To explore the expression and distribution of insulin-like growth factor-Ⅰ receptor(IGF-IR) in normal brain and human glioma tissues,and the relationship between its expression and MIB-1.Methods:Expression of IGF-IR and MIB-1 was assessed by immunohistochemistry S-P staining in 55 cases of gliomas and 10 normal brain tissues.Results:The positive rate in gliomas was higher than that in normal brain tissues(P0.05).We also found there was a significant difference between low grade(WHO Ⅰ-Ⅱ) and high grade(Ⅲ-Ⅳ) of gliomas(P0.05).There was correlation between IGF-IR expression and MIB-1(rs=0.735,P0.01).Conclusion:IGF-IR played an very important role in the genesis and development of human gliomas and it may be an adjuvant index of diagnosing glioma and estimating prognosis.
