Abstract
The article deals with again the nature of language, meaning, context and their relations from the angle of context′s communication function. Language alone can not fulfil the task of communication completely and independently; it has to be working together with context. Context is also a means of expressing meaning; language and context help, support and develop each other in communication. On the basis of the above-mentioned opinions, this writer further presents and discusses the cognitiveness and development tendency of context, analyses the communication and participation functions of context.
