The professionalization of teachers has undoubtedly become a top agenda in educational research area.The teachers' development in higher education includes the promotion of professional knowledge and aspirations in the form of the learning,research and social service.Professional aspirations,among other factors(e.g.improvement of professional knowledge or professional capabilities),is one of the key fundamental impetus which influences the teachers' professional development.This paper is to compare the current situation of the teachers' professional development of higher education in China and the parallel studies in this field in UK,and is to generalize an integrated approach that will stimulate professional aspirations and improve the present teachers' professional development in China.
