Abstract
The organobentonite was synthesized from natural bentonite and benzyldimethylsteary-lammonium chloride(1827).The effect of reaction temperature and time on organiclevel(floating mass ratio to total product mass) was studied. The experimental results indicaled that at 96.6% of organiclevel could be achieved when the reaction temperature and time were(150°C) and 120 min respectively. The structure of the obtained organobentonite was characterized by IR,XRD,TEM and DSC-TG.The content of organic matter was 38.4% and the distance between layers increased to 1.97 nm from 1.21 nm.
