Abstract

Bentonite particles were prepared using bentonite powder as raw material and modified with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide( CTMAB) by microwave one-step method to synthetize organobentonite particles. The SEM morphology showed that the lamella of organobentonite particles became small. It was calculated from the results of XRD that the interlayer spacings of organobentonite particles was increased from 0. 91 nm to 1. 02 nm. The effects of CTMAB dosage on the adsorption efficiency of 2,4-dichlorophenol onto organobentonite particles were investigated by column test. The results indicated that when the CTMAB dosage increased from 25% CEC to 100% CEC,the breakthrough time of adsorption column increased from 80 min to 220 min. The regeneration experiments showed that organobentonite particles could be recycled.
