Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of Hirude decoction on the degradation of hepatic fibrosis in rats. Methods Hepatic fibrosis model in rats was induced by CCl 4,then was treated with Hirude decoction for ten weeks;the content of hydroxyproline (Hyp) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in liver tissue was detected, and the histopathological changes in liver tissue were observed by optical microscopy. Results The content of Hyp and MDA in Hirude group were (178.51±25.11)μg/g liver powder and (218.84±25.96)nmol/ml respectively,as compared with (190.38±29.49)μg/g liver powder and (230.64±24.37)nmol/ml in model natural recurrence group, there were no significant differences in both indexes between two groups (P0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the collagen accumulation also (P0.05).Conclusion Hirude decoction has no obvious therapeutic effect on hepatic fibrosis.
