Crossbreeding Experiment of Texel Meat Sheep and Han-sheep with Small Tail

Abstract

When female Han-sheep with small tail was crossed with male Texel sheep,the lambing rate reached 213.04%.and the iamingrate of Han-sheep with small tailwas 230.43%.There was not significant difference in the lambing rat of them.During sucking period,the indexes of growht and development of Texel F 1 lamb were better than those of Han-sheep with small tail.the chest width,the chest depth and the thurl width increased 19.95%,11.54% and 19.29%(p0.01),respectively.than those of Han-sheep with small tail.In finishing stage at the age of four months to six months,The net gain of Texel F 1 was 11.77kg which increased 8.51kg or 38.3%,than that of Han-sheep with small tail(p0.01).There was a sigmificant hybrid vigor.The carcass weight of Texel F1 was 21.65kg and the dressing percentage of them was 51.08% which increased 5.57 percentage points than that of Han-sheep with small tail,suggesting that the meat production performance was best than that of Han-sheep with small tail.The income of Texel F 1 increased 111.83 yuan (RMB) than that of Han-sheep with small tail.The GR valne of Texel F 1 was 13.11mm which cassified middle level according to the classification standard of mutton sheep in New Zealand.
