Abstract
Objective To study the correlation between bone density and mRNA expression of TGF-β1 in the alveolars with experimental diabetic rats. Methods Twenty SD rats were randomly divided into following groups: normal group and diabetic group. At the 8th weeks ,TGF-β1 mRNA expression in the alveolars were measured by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR),respectively.In addition, radiograph, bone density and pathology were examined. Results In diabetic group, the alveolar bone density was decreased, and mRNA expression of TGF-β1 was increased. Conclusion It is suggested that the alveolar bone in rats with diabetes had a tendency to develop osteoporosis. It might be related with increased TGF-β1 mRNA expression.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
