Abstract
of the People's Republic of China on Opening Government Information will be put into effect on May 1,2008.Chapter III Article 15 of the Regulations provides thatThe authorities should take the initiative to open government information by the Government Gazette,government websites,press conferences,as well as newspapers,periodicals,radio,and television to facilitate public knowledge.In August 2007 Office of the State Council issued a notification that on Preparing for the Implementation of The of the People's Republic of China on Opening Government Information.The Notification provides thatgive full play to the government portals as the platforms of opening government information,and the portals to all levels of government should become the first platform of opening government This shows that the Regulations and the document are clear at the portals to all levels of government as the main channels for opening government information.
