An Interpretation of Translators' Creative Treason from the Perspective of Reception Aesthetics

Creative treason is a literary translation fact in specific cultural and historical context and summarizes common rules of literary translation from the perspective of descriptive translation studies.This paper employs the theory of reception aesthetics to justify the existence of translators' creative treason in literary translation.The translator,as a special reader,interprets the source text under the influence of his/her horizon of expectations,communicates and negotiates with the target text readers and then produces the target text.The subjectivity of translators can by no means be ignored,which results in the creative treason inevitably.
